Internal Plant
A range of units used to provide tube or fibre management in an internal
environment. Designed and extensively tested for internal application (fire resistant materials)
these products have been designed to specifically manage Sirocco® blown fibre units/tubes and,
where relevant, traditional optical cabling. The product portfolio contains:
• FTTH Entry Kit
Used to provide an ergonomic and managed cable entry (conventional cable or
blown fibre tube cable) at the customer's premises. Comprises customer lead-in units, connecting
conduit and termination box, for residential or small business use.
• 4F Compact Termination Box
Designed for use in residential and business applications for the termination
of up to 4-fibres. This small but elegant unit enables the installation of either a single Sirocco®
blown fibre tube cable using up to a 4-fibre blown unit or two 2-fibre ruggedised cables to be
spliced to four SC pigtails which connect to adapters at the base of the unit.
• Gas Seal Unit
The Sirocco® Gas Seal Unit can be used at all customer entry points if
required, but in practice is more typically used in business premises. A wall mounted unit, it is
positioned internally at the cable entry point. Gas sealing connectors facilitate the transition of
the incoming external Sirocco® tubing to internal Sirocco® tubing. These connectors are used to
seal both populated (with Sirocco® units) and unpopulated Sirocco® tubing. The Gas Seal Unit is
used for internally fed cable or with an OAsys® Customer Lead In for cables entering through the
fabric of the wall.
• Customer Lead-In Unit
The OAsys® Customer Lead In Unit enables external Sirocco® tubing to be
passed through the building fabric from an outside wall and can be used to enter any type of
building whether an office, factory or residential. The Customer Lead In Unit comprises two
separate units mounted either side of the wall and connected by a length of conduit. This product
can also be used to manage the entry of conventional cable.
There are two designs:
• ORDJ10
A modular distribution sub-rack for 19" and ETSI racks or wall mounted boxes,
containing a chassis, splice and/or patch modules and cable anchor systems. The chassis is
available in 1U, 4U, 5U and 13U sizes, fitting directly into a standard 19" rack, or an ETSI rack
with an adaptor bracket. The chassis can be supplied empty for later configuration, or can be
ordered with selected modules installed by Prysmian pre-shipment. Cable anchor systems are
available for a variety of cable options, providing all components to route fibres to the
module.
• Internal Tube Distribution
The Internal Tube Distribution Unit (Internal TDU) has been designed to allow
maximum flexibility within building applications. The Internal TDUs are available in metallic or
plastic constructions providing 3 or 4 way breakout.
These designs will accept up to 24 tube internal LSOH cables and the necessary connector
interfaces for gas/water sealing, breakout and re-routing. The Sirocco® tubes are positively
managed to prevent excessive bending.
