FTTx: Where we are Today
With the current emphasis on high capacity broadband applications
and the subsequent drive to bring Fibre to the Premises (FTTp) or Fibre to the Home (FTTh), the
adoption of dedicated fibre systems in the "last mile" networks is set to rise dramatically.
Equipment suppliers are rising to the challenge and, with a history going back more than 130
years, Prysmian has a wealth of knowledge and experience in fibre technology. The focus is now
on this "last mile" sector and Prysmian is actively developing a range of products to suit a
variety of FTTx applications.
Such products are often the result of cooperation between Prysmian and customers and
partners worldwide. They are engineered with real applications in mind, with an emphasis on easy
and cost-effective installation.
Prysmian is closely involved in the promotion and the development of FTTx worldwide.
